Just a few days after my 5-day NYC trek, I found myself racing back to NYC for an impromptu visit. Why? Because Jet Li was spotted in town randomly by some NYC combo hunters. And his hotel was known. I've been going to NYC since 2009. Not once did I hear about Jet Li doing anything else. And in the next 15 year who knows if that chance would come up again.
The first stop before Jet Li would be at a NYC area airport for Colin Blunstone, the lead singer of The Zombies (Time Of The Season). I met Rod Argent after a show before but wasn't able to get Colin. So this would be a good stop before Jet Li.
Arrived at the airport and saw randomly Jazz musician Joe Lovano and barely valid musician John Menegon. Got ops with both. While waiting randomly see none other than Gunther with his wife Jinny and their baby. I have him but I don't have her. Gunther was declining ops and I asked Jinny and got declined.
We finally see Colin and he is super cool signs and does photo ops. Success! As Gunther and Jinny finished checking tried asking again. Jinny and Gunther still declined, and I politely asked Jinny again and she too declined. SMH. I can understand him declining but she should be happy anyone knows who she is.
Went to NYC to the hotel for Jet Li and of course there's a swarm of people waiting but everyone was lined up. While waiting get Josh Holloway (repeat) and Steve Levy. When Jet Li arrived it was an incredible site as he took care of almost everyone in line. I managed to get the op and 3 autographs! Mission accomplished!
Go to the next spot to see what else can be had before leaving the city, I get Austin Pendleton (repeat), Scott Adsit (fresh) from Big Hero 6 who did an awesome autograph/sketch and was super nice to everyone, Erin Neufer (fresh), Meghann Fahy (repeat), Felix Solis (fresh), Josh Segarra (repeat), and Glenn Howerton (repeat).
Julianne Moore didn't stop but I already had her. I failed on actor Leo Woodall who did a couple of ops but I couldn't get him. Sucks because he would have been a fresh name for me. And actress Milly Alcock (Supergirl), who would have also been fresh, didn't stop.
As you can see very little success for me in terms of fresh names but again to be expected when you have as many people as me. This ended my impromptu visit to NYC.
