Some Scattered Meets Throughout April

On a day I had a couple of good events to cover. First one was related to the movie The Long Game. Arrive at the hotel and get Cheech Martin update photo op. He said he is running late and doesn't sign. But leaving he does sign. Then I got actor Julian Works. He didn't have a wikipedia at the time but now he does. And then Jay Hernandez arrives and is nice. Great name but sadly I have him, so it didn't do much for me. Waited for actress Paulina Chávez but sadly never saw her. 

However it turns out the wife of Jay is actress Daniella Deutscher, and she was actually with him there. Didn't realize it on the spot. But as luck would have it, they were having dinner at the restaurant of the hotel. Waited a bit and as she was walking, I got the op, and she was nice as can be. 

On to the next spot for an event related to Different World. Lots of names I have were there, but lots of names I didn't have. The spot wasn't the best so I could be selective on who I would ask. 

First get is a good one. Tempestt Bledsoe AKA Vanessa Huxtable from The Cosby Show. I have an op from 2011 in NYC but I wanted an upgrade. Shockingly she looks unchanged from 2011 to 2024. Maybe it's the makeup.

Names I scored that I didn't have included Glynn Turman, Kadeem Hardison, and Karen Malina White. 

Names I saw and didn't ask since I have them included Cree Summer, Dawnn Lewis, and Jasmine Guy. 

Names I needed and missed because I got kicked out the property included Darryl M. Bell and Charnele Brown.

To redeem those misses I went to the next spot in the hopes I'd see them, but it was simply Cree Summer and her entourage having dinner. So the spot was worthless to wait at. This ended my evening.

Next day I try another evening event where randoms could show up. But no one good showed up. I got an op JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon. But I did get a good autograph score, namely Tim Cook (didn't need to ask for another op).

Around mid April I go to a paid signing for actress Sheryl Lee from Twin Peaks and One Tree Hill. After her q&a she set up a table where I found someone to split a combo price. Her op was slightly distanced but good enough.

Next day go to the airport for singer Martha Wash. The only living original member of The Weather Girls (It's Raining Men). While waiting see basketball player Dennis Scott. So I got the op. Finally see Martha. She was a little shaken at being stopped at the airport. But she did the op and did 1 or 2 autos before shutting it down.

On my way back from Jersey I stop by a venue for singer Action Bronson. Never really heard of him buy made sense to stop. He greeted the crowd and did multi combos.

Next up a music event. My main wants were an upgrade with Sharyl Crow, singer Patti Austin, and producer Mark Ronson.

First, I get the duo War and Treaty again. They are nice as always. I also get an auto from them. Then Candiace Dillard Bassett and Patti Austin who is nice. Score! After that J Ivy and Mark Ronson plus autos! Score!

I get an update with record producer Jimmy Jam, plus Kenyon Dixon, John Cornyn, and an update with Rapsody. Sheryl Crow enters wearing shades. I let others get her as I didn't need another shades shot. Singer Lauren Daigle blanks. 

I leave and come back and see Lauren Daigle again. Apparently, she left and came back. I plead for the op to no avail despite having her 1 on 1! 

Exits were practically a fail. Lauren Daigle blank again. Shery Crow exists no shades and a plead for the op to no avail. I get Leon Thomas, Max Baca, Peter Stroud, and Jeff Gitelman plus another Mark Ronson auto.

Chiller Theater April 2024 Report

Due to the events previously reported, I would have to do a quick in out for Chiller on Friday. My top wants would be Cybill Shepherd, Jenilee Harrison, and Lee Ving. Not too much to write about, I would get in, split some ops, leave.

Amidst Chiller, whole bunch of meets at the end of April

End of April before and after Chiller, I would have a host of meets. Let us begin. 

First up, I go a hotel for check ins. I have a flight for my main want, Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men, Superman IV). But the airport is close to an hour away from the hotel. Do I leave hotel at a certain time or chance for him to come to me? Ultimately, I decided to avoid the drive and wait. 

Start waiting at the hotel. First, I get actor Joseph Lee (fresh), then Jason Kravits (fresh), Tramell Tillman (fresh), and Diedrich Bader (update). Saw Yetide Badaki and got autos didn't need the op as it would have been a downgrade. Saw Yvette Nicole Brown but she had a mask on, so I had no need to get another op with her. 

Finally, Jon Cryer arrives and is nice as can be. Get him on four photos, two of which are completed Two and a Half Men photos. And of course, the photo op. Always cool to get someone connected to the Reeves Superman movies. There were more celebs to be had but never saw them.

Give up for the evening and decide to try again the next morning to finish up and head to Chiller. Park across the street, sleep in the car, wake up.

First, I see David Cross. Get an upgrade. Then actress Keyla Monterroso Mejia (fresh), Midori Francis (fresh), Tramell Tillman (no hat upgrade from the prior day), and Yetide Badaki (update/upgrade). Said hello to Tim Daly as I didn't need another op with him. I didn't see Susie Essman, one of my top wants. Did I not spot her? I go to the next spot and see all the actors and actresses again, but no one that looks like Susie Essman. I get an op with Jon Cryer's wife Lisa Joyner. Later I would find out Susie didn't show up at all. After this quick and easy sweeping success, it was off to Chiller (which will have a separate report).

Drive back after Chiller Theater, park close to a spot, and sleep. Wake up and start a new adventure. It was sub par as I didn't see a lot of movie or tv names. I saw Rufus Sewell who I already had. Get an updated photo and some autos. Also saw Fran Drescher and got autos,  didn't need another op. Got a few non acting names.

Linda Carter went in and I needed autos. Sadly, I had to choose between trying her for exits and going to a flight for midget actor Brad Williams. I chose the latter which was more guaranteed. As it turned out Linda Carter racked it out. But I did get Brad Williams who was a fresh meet. He was happy to do the op.

Go to the next spot where security is tight due to anti-Zionist protesters (who also harassed me as I was trying to mooch my way in as they assumed I was a regular attendee). But I finally made it inside. And on entries I start getting people. Linda Carter blanks. My heart is crushed as I miss legendary actor Jean Reno because I stepped away to check out another area. Also missed actress Da'Vine Joy Randolph. But on exits I turn my luck around. Get Billy Porter update and by stroke of luck See Jean Reno come out the way he came in. And he was nice as can be. Score of the weekend right there! 

Also got updated shots with Caitlyn Jenner and Lorne Michaels. And saw Da'Vine Joy Randolph (fresh) so I made up that blunder too! Saw Sophia Bush who I needed an upgrade with and missed out on in NYC. I had to beg and plead but I got the upgrade. 

Didn't see Joely Fisher or Desi Lydic who were around (have the former but needed the latter). Keri Russel blanked me. Have a great op but needed autos from her. Molly Wingwald did nothing for no one. Have the op but also needed autos from her. Also got Aldis Hodge and Wilson Cruz, both of which I have. 

For the final spot of the evening, it was a little bit of a letdown. First off 2 graphers started a fight and because of that they put us across the street (which they weren't even legally allowed to do). I did get Jon Hamm (update) and actress Jodi Long (fresh). And an update with James Austin Johnson of SNL. 

Most graphers left and it was just me and one other. We were across the street and asked a TV presenter. She declined and entered her car but security swarmed at us for that. From that point we ceased to respect them and went to their side of the street and started verbally mocking them and taunting them for their behavior right at their faces as they stood by the gates. They acted like we were going up to Elvis back from the dead (while across the street no less) this is what they get. So we hung by the gates, taunting and mocking even more. 

Saw Douglas Emhoff (Kamala Harris' husband) but was too disgusted by him to get a photo op. Saw Jim Cramer and got him to sign but didn't need another op. This ended the evening.

I was a SURVIVOR in Jersey for a day

On a day towards the end of August Dave Bickler, the original lead singer of the band Survivor, was doing a charity concert at a small bar in Jersey. Survivor's most famous song is of course the iconic 80s song "Eye of the Tiger" which was also the theme song of Rocky III.

Before hitting up the spot for Dave, I hit up NJ Horror con in Edison. My wants there are few. First up is Raushan Hammond who was the fat black lost boy in Hook. He shockingly looks recognizable. Then Chance Michael Corbitt from the movie Lost Boys. Then get VC Dupree from Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. He is a barely valid name big picture wise, but was killed in one of the most iconic death scenes in Friday the 13th history, if not horror history. He utters the iconic phrase "take your best shot … mutha fucka" before being killed.

Dr Chud of the Misfits was there at a table. Got a free photo op with him. Them finally my main want from his con arrives, actress Shannyn Sossamon (A Knight's Tale, 40 Days and 40 Nights). Got the op with her. This ended my time at the con.

On to the venue for Dave. While waiting outside I get an op with Richie Ranno who is a member of the band Starz. Dave enters but says he has to get inside and to get him after. Inside the venue I watch the concert then after the concert get Dave and he is nice as can be. Upon leaving I get Steve Brown from the band Trixter.

Ralph Fiennes, Halle Berry, and more in April

Around mid-April, actor Ralph Fiennes and actress Indira Varma were doing a show. The access wasn't good. But we wait for entry and see Indira Varma arrive. Since we have bigger fish to fry (Ralph) and don't want to blow our cover we painfully wait. Ralph arrives and sadly uses the fake cell phone trick. Luckily Indira was just standing there talking to other cast members and I manage to go up to her and get a photo op and autographs. 

Later that day we wait at a different spot in the hopes that Ralph is nicer. Basically, it was waiting for him to finish the show, go to dinner, and come back to the spot. And when he does, he was being rough, but we managed to plead for the photo op, and he declined autographs. SUCCESS! 

Later that evening I decide to try for the "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" tour at the venue. I mainly need Ryan Stiles (Two and a Half Men) and Joel Murray (Monsters University, and the last Murray I still need). At the venue I see Ryan Styles near the van and ask for the op. He literally laughs at me and following that the venue security kicks me off the property. Now I'm looking from afar with no access. So as the van leaves the driveway of the venue I go to the hotel. 

At the hotel the driver sees me and remembers me from the venue and goes "oh this guy". But thankfully I'm 100% on the sidewalk at that point. I get ops with Joel Murray (fresh), Greg Proops (repeat), and Ryan Stiles (fresh). Since I'm the only one waiting I miss actor Jeff B Davis. Overall, a pretty successful day.

Next day was waiting at the airport for actress Halle Berry. While waiting for her former house speaker Kevin McCarthy is flying out, so I get the photo op. Then Halle Berry comes through and I manage to get the full combo with her. SCORE! 

After that I go to an event with names such as Judith Light, John Lithgow, Jessica Hecht, Jordan Donica, Laverne Cox, and others. But I had them. I was hoping to get Indira Varma no shades. Most actually snuck in including Ralph but I see Judith Light and get another photo. Then I see Indira with an encourage. I try to ask for the op but sadly she declines.

Day 4

With the airport in the rear view mirror, and everyone who was supposed to come to Philadelphia being already in Philadelphia, it was time for other activities. My first stop was WWE World. And I of course focus on the photo op lines. There were 1h sessions with 3 or 4 wrestlers. And you would circle through. I would do those each day going forward and each time I would get a mix of fresh names, upgrades, and updates.

Grayson Waller (who declined me at the airport 2 days earlier) and Jakara Jackson remembered me from the airport. Waller was laughing saying he seems me at the airport "all the time". He also busted my balls declining my handshake saying he wouldn't take a photo with me. Jakarta smiled and told me hello. I didn't argue with him but not sure why or how he said he sees me at the airport "all the time" since the time I saw him 2 days ago was the first time in my life I ever saw Grayson Waller in person.

Unfortunately, I had to cut my time at WWE world short because I had to get to RF's show at Battleground Wrestling for the Minoru Suzuki signing. So I left to drive to the ECW arena and in doing so I missed Ava Raine (Rock's daughter) doing a photo line at WWE world. No way both could have been done because you can't be in two places.

So at the ECW arena I get Minoru Suzuki no issue, and now it was time to go far away from Philly to Gettysburg for an event with actor Sam Waterston. A guy I've missed and even failed on in the past. 

Arrive in Gettysburg and lay low until the event lets out. I was so afraid the venue employees would be nasty, but they were actually a non-factor. Sam Waterston is the first one out and to my shock does combos no issue. SCORE! At this point I'm in bonus mode as both Ken Burns and Martin Sheen come out and I get updates with each.

Back to Philly I go to the hotel for WWE. Most were sneaking but arriving I get Thunderbolt Patterson again and he was cool doing combos despite being disabled and in a wheelchair. Then I get a fresh name I didn't have that I didn't see anywhere else, Elektra Lopez! And she is all dolled up. Besides that I get Carlito to sign for me and get a photo with Dawn Marie, first one in many years. Shocking that she looks largely unchanged from way back when she did every single con.

This day starts away from WWE at Wrestlecon. These days any event with old school WWF names is a very rare treat. As almost everyone has either been around so much or dead. But here, there are a whopping FOUR old school WWF names. Nailz, Cheryl Roberts, Aja Kong, and Kyoko Inoue.

First I get Mariah May, then Cheryl Roberts, and then a fully prison suited Nailz, then Harley Cameron, and a dual shot with Aja Kong and Kyoko Inoue. After Wrestlecon it was off to WWE world. Of course at that point I missed most of the photo op line, but I would get the following:

At this point I decided to try for The Rock at his hotel. This was an error because he barely did anything and I missed stuff at the WWE hotel including Rey Mysterio's daughter. Thankfully I do have a photo op with the Rock from long ago but wanted his updated bald-headed look at some autos. I guess you can't win them all.

When they advertised Valhalla I was hoping Sarah Logan would be fully Valhalla suited since I have so many Sarah Logan ops, but sadly it was just Sarah Logan. Elton Prince looked at me and said I look familiar and I said that I met him at the airport. Bron Breakker a huge upgrade from the airport photo.

I would then go to the WWE hotel and by MIRACLE I managed to be inside the hotel. I was very selective who I asked and where. I saw plenty of people but if I had them for the most part I didn't ask. But I got Zelina Vega, Lana, and Kofi Kingston. Then I saw a fully suited Naomi. Historically Naomi always remembered me but it had been years since I saw her. So I went up to her simply asking for a photo and saying nothing to see if she would remember me. And he goes "oohhh heyy". She was cool to me as always. I also score Aalyah Gutierrez, Rey Mysterio's daughter! Which means I now completed the entire Mysterio family! 

Then I got McKenzie Mitchell, and another rare score, Ata Johnson (The Rock's mother). I guess she isn't really valid but she did do the Hall of Fame speech of her mother. Then I got Cora Jade (upgrade from the airport), Lash Legend (upgrade from the airport), referee Aja Smith (fresh), announcer Marcelo Rodriguez (fresh), and Montez Ford (update). I saw The Rock's daughter take a photo then I asked and she declined and I pleaded a little more saying she just took a photo and she finally relented! SCORE!

Then I got a dual shot with Trick Williams and Lash Legend which came out pretty nice. And comedian Sal Vulcano from Impractical Jokers. A blow off was Rezar from AOP. I saw him take a photo with a child and I asked he said he only does it with kids. I also stupidly missed Tatum Paxley because I stepped outside. Ughhhhh! This meant I had to suffer at an early morning flight the next day.

I saw a guy that was a giant. I thought maybe he is a new NXT guy or something. I got the op just in case. But I don't think he was anyone sadly. Just a tall person. This ended my evening.

My final day in Philly and it would begin where it all started, at the airport. There was a mass NXT flight. I saw Jazmyn Nyx and got a photo. Then I see the person I needed, Tatum Paxley. She was nice. Somehow I missed Gabbi Tuft (who I have as Tyler Rex). As I left the airport I saw Angel Garza and Berto but I had no need to get them. And then it was back to WWE world, my final stop for Wrestlemania week. I got

Finally got both members of AOP. Akam was polite and shook hands but he seemed so miserable standing there doing ops. He obviously chose the wrong job if he hates this so much. Glad I never have to worry about AOP again.

After all the photo sessions were done, I browsed some more props and sets, and happily headed out of Philadelphia.

Wrestlemania 40 week report part 1

Wrestlemania week would be 7 days of grueling non stop grinding and very little sleep. I would sleep in the car for almost all of those 7 days. And in between I would step away from Wrestlemania and go for a major actor I never got before. I would get many fresh names and some of those I would upgrade later in the week. 

Throughout the week I would be joined by former markedout board members heelorton, Chris Collector, and Lucas, current board members Bobby, Jwill, Oldschool Mike (plus son), board admins woodmo and wewantflair, Vanessa the Jesey Shore stalker, and lots more.  

I shall split it to 2 parts. First part is almost entirely at the airport. Second part is various different places and almost no airport.

Day 1

Arrive in the evening at the airport. I had AOP flights earlier in the day, but I knew better than to waste my time on them (and indeed they were horrible). First get is Tiffany Stratton (fresh) plus autos. Then Alba Fyre (fresh) who is super nice and LA Knight (repeat). Then I get a rather unique name. Rey Mysterio's wife Angie Gutierrez. She was involved in storylines on TV so a rare valid name right there. Then got Isla Dawn (fresh) who is super nice, Odyssey Jones (Fresh), Tyler Bate, Cameron Grimes, and Karrion Kross. Scarlett said she doesn't do ops at the airport but thankfully I had no need to ask. Kit Wilson and Elton Prince are there,  both big wants of mine I have Kit but I never got Elton cause he got injured. So it was fantastic to get the dual shot and complete my items and they were super friendly and super happy to stop. Also got a solo Elton since I have a solo Kit.

Grayson Waller who I never got was there but refused to stop at the airport. I begged, I pleaded, even followed him outside away from everyone but he would not budge. Big blow for me at the time but spoiler alert I would make it up later in the week. Ended my evening with a photo op with Santos Escobar

Day 2

The day starts of early, and also exclusively at the airport. And it is off to a fantastic start. As soon as I get there I randomly see Mace and Mansoor! Score because when I got them with WWE they didn't take off masks for the photos. Now I got a dual shot no mask. What a great win right there! I consider both of those fresh names since mask ops are the same as not having the op.

Next up is a mass NXT flight. I clean up well here. First I get a rare name in Ryan Katz. Then Cora Jade, Brooks Jensen, and then Bron Breakker who was a huge want of mine. Heard some bad stories about him to I feared the worst but he was super nice and signed. Then Kiana James, Fallon Henley, and Norman Smiley (repeat). Got Norman to sign encyclopedias. Also on the flight was a very rare WCW name, namely Robbie Brookside! Got the op.

While walking see Zack Ryder randomly and get the op and auto. Next up to the international area where more people are coming. But I really don't know who most of these people are. One person who was flying in from abroad by coincidence was markedout board member Bobby. So I was apparently waiting for him as well! Got Ricky Knight Jr (Paige's nephew), Kid Lycos, Rhio, and Alexxis Falcon. Stepped away from the international area and got another op with Jade Cargill. Back to the international area and get Alexander Wolfe again plus auto.

Had the flight for Brandi Rhodes, wife of Cody Rhodes. She was not too accommodating. As she was walking and being whisked away I got her on two encyclopedias. Thankfully I didn't need another op which she wasn't trying to do. 

Another flight was hall of famer Bull Nakano coming in. She is nice as can be and signs and does ops despite no make up. I also get announcer Alicia Taylor. Then to another area where I get some other names I'm not too familiar with. Lana Austin, Spike Trivet, Luke Jacobs, Lee McAteer. 

One big blow for the evening was the cancelation of a flight that had a whole bunch of NXT names. This meant we didn't know how these people are coming in. 

Towards the end of the evening, while walking around randomly see The Tonga Twins, Kaoz and Kona. I get dual and single shots. For the final wait of the evening I get Top Dolla, Nikki Cross, and Nick Aldis, all repeats. Nick refused to sign as did Booker T. Final op for the night was Stephanie Vaquer (who has since signed with NXT). Michael Hayes had a flight that got delayed till like 4am. While I needed autos, I was afraid to wait only for him to be in a bad mood that late. So I called it a night and got some sleep.

Day 3

This would be my first day that wasn't a full airport day. But first spot was the airport, mainly for a 20+ NXT motherload flight. First op of the day was Sumie Sakai (ROH). Then get Candice LeRae, Xia Brookside, Gary Wolfe, and Noelle Foley, all repeats. And Noelle's boyfriend Frank the Clown. Then get updated ops from Eddie Kingston and Dean Malenko. Wanted some autos from Dean but he wouldn't sign. Then get Rocky Romero (ROH) and Diamond Dallas Page who signed one per.

Next we all wait for Hall of Famer Thunderbolt Patterson. He is nice as can be but sadly has lazy eye so had to do several ops to get a couple of passable ones. 

Head to the motherload flight, and on the way see Jazz and I get a photo op. Now the NXT flight, chaos ensued. It was very tiering, and I was running around everywhere but I managed to get everyone. Most were fresh but some were repeats. Terry Taylor (who I have) declined but everyone else didn't. Although in the coming days I would get better ops with many of them at other spots and events (and they would remember me from the airport). Here is the list of ops I got:

Besides this, got autos from Jeff Hardy and Jimmy Hart. Didn't need ops. Saw Hornswoggle and got an updated photo with him. Got updates from Haku, Gerald Brisco, Bo Dallas, and Ahmed Johnson and some autos from Bo Dallas and Ahmed Johnson.

Saw Japanese legend Minoru Suzuki who was a complete dick. Would have been nice not to have to go to Battleground Wrestling at the ECW arena for his signing, but I guess you can't win them all. Also saw Trish Stratus but she was really fast getting into the cab and no one really asked her.

The second and final spot for the evening was a party event. Saw lots of people. The Tonga Twins remembered me from the airport the day before. One of them even burrowed my jacket since it was raining. Got an update op with Carlito.

Got Adriana Rizzo and Tony D'Angelo dual op. Then got updates with Skye Blue, Tasha Steelz, and Big E. Got Shazza McKenzie, Nixi XS, and updates with Gail Kim and Joaquin Wilde. Went up to Joaquin and he actually remembered me from an airport months ago. Told him hello and said let's do a non-airport shot. Then got a Kiah Dream and a cool dual op with Samantha Irvin and Ricochet. Then got Aleah James, Noam Dar, and all of Aleah James, Noam Dar, and Oro Mensah in one shot. Noam Dar said he admired my dedication at the airport. Got Vic Joseph (update), Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo again, and a dual shot with Luca Crusifino and Channing. Luca also remembered me from the airport earlier and commended me. Saw Carmelo Hayes and he declined another op with me saying he got me earlier at the airport. I guess no Carmelo upgrade for me tonight. I simply thanked him for the op earlier.

Never heard of him but I got rapper Beanie Sigel. Got a rather cool and novel group shot with  Rob Van Dam and his wife and girlfriend (Jennifer Barlow and Katie Forbes). Got updates with R Truth and Ivy Nile, upgrade with Odyssey Jones, and a fresh op with Trick Williams as my final photo op for the evening. 

MVP did not want to take a photo with me and got upset when I got the camera in front of him. It's ok I have him. Would have been an update from many years ago. Saw Bobby Lashley but didn't need another op so I just said hello to him. A notable blow off was The Rock's daughter Ava Raine. She declined me both going in and leaving. I tried my best to plead even telling her that I met her father and grandfather and showing her my photo op with Rocky Johnson. But she would not budge.

Some scattered meets throughout March part 2

Towards the end of March there was a comedy event featuring Kevin Hart. Lots of others would show up as well. Sadly it was sub par due to celebs being nasty. 

At the first spot to start off they didn't even let us stand where we normally stand. Went to the hotel and not long after got word we were able to stand. So went back. Sadly stuff was missed while we couldn't stand. 

Besides some low level comedy names, I got Nick Cannon, JB Smoove on my Barbershop poster (have the op), Chris Rock on 8x10s (didn't need another op), Dave Burd AKA Lil Dicky (not sure who that is but he is apparently popular). On exits I got Nelly (photo and autograph) but failed on getting a better shot with Ashanti.

Chris Spencer who could barely walk (he had a stroke) was taking care of everyone, meanwhile so many celebs decided to be nasty and as a result the fails however were extensive. 

Robin Thicke would sneak and we had no access to him. Could have used a better op and autos. 

Regina Hall barely stopped. I got an auto but thankfully have the op.

Kevin Hart did nothing for no one. Wanted an upgrade plus autographs.

Jordan Howlett who is a nobody was a dick. Failed on comedian George Wallace and missed Skye Townsend.

Chelsea Handler (who I never got) and Jerry Seinfeld did quick entries and were never seen again. 

Tiffany Haddish did very little and I wasn't able to get anything. Could have used a better shot and autos).

Went to the hotel to try and redeem some of these failures. Kevin Hart did nothing. Robin Thicke ignored. Regina Hall was gonna come over but got cock blocked. And had yet another Ashanti fail. Only thing I got was another shot with Nelly (plus autograph) and an upgrade with JB Smoove.

An event with Logan Lerman and Joey King popped up. Have Logan need Joey. Sadly saw it too late so had to improvise. I found a train leaving for both of them. Wait at the station, saw Logan and he was cool signed and did photos. But Joey was nowhere to be seen to a point where figured she likely already boarded the train. 

By miracle manage to successfully mooch our way into the actual train. Saw her sitting first class and asked for ops which she did but declined autos. Promptly exited the train literally minutes before it departed. Had those doors shut while in there that would have been potential arrest. This marks my first ever train photo op.

Later that evening went to try for the band The Zombies. There were two original members to get, Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone. Show broke and saw the opening act Wendy Colonna at a signing table. Got the op. Sadly the band did nothing at the venue so had to go to the hotel. Rod stopped but Colin declined.

Next night I go to a venue for country singer Marty Stuart. Wait after the show and he was very cool did photos and autographs. Also got ops with the rest of his band members (who sadly are barely valid).

Finally in March, I tried for Larry David. I have the op so it was for autographs. Sadly he did nothing after the show and was a complete dick. Only got comedian Marc Maron (who I have). Big fail.

Some scattered meets throughout March part 1

Beginning March, I would try for the lead singer of the band Jane's Addiction, Perry Farrell. Besides him there's only one other original member that being the drummer. Arrive and it is looking hopeless. But then the bus shows up. 

First up I get Mike Watt, the original bassist for the band Minutemen. Then Peter DiStefano the original guitarist for Perry's off shoot band, Porno for Pyros. Then the original drummer for Jane's Addiction Stephen Perkins. When Perry and his girl Etty Lau Farrell came out it was a dream scenario. Because the bus was circling around the block. So they were just standing there. Both were nice as can be as I got ops and autos from Perry.

Later that day I would go to the airport for Jennifer Garner. I already have her but it was a convenient location and I had the ext time. So I approached her and got an autograph. Didn't need another op.

Next day I would go to an event for the band called The Beaches, hosted by a radio station.  Never heard of them but it included free pizza, free performance, and a free photo op. So I thought why not. Get in, have some free pizza, watch the convert, and get a combo.

Close to mid-march I go to an album signing for Clementine Creevy. Never heard of her, but I tagged with someone who bought the album, and I got a free photo op and free autographs. 

Later on that day went to the airport for actor Hamish Linklater and actress Lovie Simone. Have Hamish never got Lovie. First up is Hamish and he was nice as can be. Got some autos. Next up Lovie who wasn't so nice barely signing a horrid autograph and declining ops. After she got her luggage I pleaded some more for the photo op and got it. Success!

Before going up to NYC/CT for Big Event and 90s Con, I made a stop at an event in Maryland for actress Amy Yasbeck from Problem Child, Problem Child 2, The Mask, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and lots more. Got into her event, had some food, and found her. She was nice as can be. Exited the event.

An A list movie meet and more

On a day in late March I decided to try for a couple of events. In one of them Elton John was the man of the hour, but I knew that would be futile. There were however others besides him. 

At the first spot I see Nigel Olsson who played drums with Elton. Actually a solid name. He was super nice and I got the op. Saw Joni Mitchell but she completely blanked. I have the op but wanted the auto.

I then bail on this event to try for one of the nastiest celebs, Sean Penn. By miracle I manage to mooch my way into his event and attend it. When it is over he takes a photo with someone but then shuts it down. I then chase him down a huge hall way basically begging and pleading until he relents. By absolute miracle I get the op I never thought I would ever get! 

After this I go back to the Elton John event where they kicked us off the (largely public) property as Elton enters his car. He of course does nothing. Not long after the one that kicked us out left and Joni Mitchell is about to leave. We are like 3 people I manage to get the autograph while someone else manages to get the op. Thankfully I had no need to fight for the op.

Besides that I got Kirk Hammett (upgrade), session musician John Mahon, Alice in Chains bassist Mike Inez (orignial), and session musician Kim Bullard. 

Overall I'd say a successful evening. A list movie meet, a great music autograph, nice upgrade with Kirk Hammett, and more.

Big Event and other NYC meets

In mid march to coincide with 90s Con in Hartford I would go to Big Event and do some other NYC meets.

First up, Big Event. Kevin Von Erich was there but I got him at Legends of the Ring in 2009 so I had no need for him. Shockingly he seemed fairly unchanged since then. And all the big names there I already had. 

First I get the first ever female WWE ref, Rita Chatterton. Then I get Debbie Combs, daughter of Cora Combs who I met before. I should have told her I met her mother. Then I get Amari Miller from NXT, and a dual mother/son op with Shayna Wayne and Nick Wayne from AEW.

I never had a good single op with Chuck Palumbo I have him in an FBI group op. So I rectified that and got a solo shot. Ended Big Event with What's Happening Now actor Ernest Lee Thomas.

On to NYC where I start at a spot for Alfred Molina but sadly never see him. I got updates with Dylan Baker and Michael Siberry. Joined markedout admin Greg2600 to the next spot for James Madio who was one of the Lost Boys in Hook. While waiting there get actor Louis Vanaria. Waited some more and finally James who was nice as can be. 

On to the show spots, first up is actor Thomas Gibson from Eyes Wide Shut and other things. He walks out and is cool. Then for Marc Summers who was nice as he exited. 

Go to the final spot of the evening where I get upgrades with K Todd Freeman and Sepideh Moafi plus a fresh op with actress Saffron Burrows! After a successful evening in NYC it was off to Harford for 90s con (already reported).

After 90s con drive into NYC with former board member heelorton and friend, vanessa and friend, and we eat at the diner where the famous Harry Met Sally "I'll have what she's having" scene took place. 

Went again to try for Joy Osmanski for one last time. But again, did not see her. Not sure if it's just because she's Asian or she sneaks. I only got an update with actor Ben Rosenfield. The evening in NYC is a bust as I exit the city.

Awesome Con in DC, 90s con in Hartford

I had very few wants at awesome con. Arrive there and start with a photo op with comic book artist Mark Bagley who I already have. My first paid guest is actor Raymond Cruz (Clear and Present Danger). Then Colleen O’Shaughnessey AKA Tails in the Sonic movies. Natasha Liu Bordizzo AKA Sabine in the Ahsoka series. And finally deaf actress Alaqua Cox from Hawk Eye who was pro only and her pro ops had passed. But I managed to talk my way into paying for a table op. It was a win/win. I didn't have to pay for a more expensive pro op (which I view as an inferior product). They got money they wouldn't have had since there was no more pro op. I wanted Tom Kenny who voiced SpongeBob but my splitter bailed on me.

After that I simply got comic book names Klaus Janson, Jeph Loeb, and Sarah Myer.

The next day I did Hayden Christensen at the airport as I wanted autos and his prices of $200 a pop at awesome con is too rich for my blood. I got the updated photo op and two Star Wars  figures done. He was cool.

Fast forward to 90s in Hartford. I did NYC before 90s con, and I did NYC after 90s. I will report on that separately. At 90s con by top wants were Geena Davis and the parents from Boy Meets World. I was heartbroken when I saw the horrid separator for her Saturday at 90s con. But Sunday, that was rectified and you just had to be a certain distance from her. So I guess I'm lucky I decided to go Sunday as opposed to Saturday. Cause I might have left Hartford Saturday night and would have had to drive back from NYC Sunday.

First I get James Van Der Beek (Dawson's Creek). Then Drew Lachey and Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees). Then the Step by Step names which were big wants of mine. Brandon Call and Angela Watson. Then Alimi Ballard which is another addition to my Sabrina the Teenage Witch collection. And then Christopher Castile from Step by Step and the Beethoven movies which I loved back in the day.

Next up Andrew Keegan (10 Things I Hate About You, 7th Heaven), and the parents from Boy Meets World, Betsy Randle and William Russ. And the teacher from Boy Meets World Anthony Tyler Quinn. I've now gotten almost everyone from that show. 

Then I get Barry Watson (7th Heaven) and was about to go for David Gallagher but they said he would be back after the panel as they took him away from the table. I line up for the Geena Davis pro op and say hello to her as we pose. Never would I have dreamt I would get that op as she is nasty on the street and didn't think she would be the con type. But I suppose anything is possible in life and this is proof.

After the pro op the 7th Heaven people returned to their table. David Gallagher was gone apparently he came back for 10 minutes and had to go to the airport. What in the fucking fuck! That was one name on my list! But I got Beverley Mitchell and Mackenzie Rosman from that show. Ended my time at 90s con with Brendan Fehr and Jason Behr from Roswell fame.

Multi Day NYC haul in early March

On an evening in early March, I drive into NYC to hit up multiple targets over the next 4 days. I commandeer my parking spot, sleep, and prepare myself for the long week ahead.

Day 1

First stop is actress Denise Richards. Missed her at a Steel City Con in December 2019 just before the pandemic hit because I was out of country. As she exits she is nice as can be even defying her publicist. I get the op and autographs. I also get Eugene Levy to sign for me.

I then go to use the bathroom at my "go to" spot after I wake up in NYC. By coincidence I see Eugene's van at the restaurant nearby. I quickly go to the bathroom then wait. And I get another autograph. I couldn't get the photo op but it's ok I have a decent shot with him.

I then wait on DeWanda Wise at a spot. But she garaged. I do however get child actress Pyper Braun. No Doubt drummer Adrian Young was supposed to be there but didn't see him. There was another spot where the Rock went to. I go check it out but he was gone. I saw Eugene Levy's van again and I informed other combo hunters who needed him and they got the photo op.

Next up try for Lindsay Lohan. Sadly entries is a complete bust. So I wait for exits. At another spot Ashley Tisdale stopped but one can't be everywhere. Also markedout member Greg2600 got Richard Gear and Jean Reno randomly at another spot. I have Gear but need Jean Reno. So that was a little bit of a heartbreak, but spoiler alert I would make that up in the future. 

On exits I am much more successful as I get Lindsay's sister Aliana Lohan (who is valid). Then after a lot of begging and pleading I overcome the crowd and get Lindsay Lohan. Missed actor Ed Speleers who left out the front. 

Went to a spot for Josh Brolin but the crowd was HUGE. Did not think he would do it leaving so I left to try him somewhere else. Sadly he did indeed do it there and I was heartbroken beyond belief as I failed on him in the past as well. But spoiler alert I would make that up the next day.

After this botch on my part, went to spot to try to see if Ed Speleers was still there. Saw Jane Seymour and got another photo op with her. And finally see Ed and get the photo op. Overall a successful day.

Day 2

This day starts very unexpectedly. Namely with one of the main reasons I came to NYC, Sam Neill from Jurrsassic Park fame! This particular spot was told me on short notice I didn't even have time to eat as I got up and headed there. It is off to a good start as I get a fresh op with actor Jake Lacy who I failed on in the past. Sam Neill did nothing going in.

On exits I get Amanda Bennett but the op is invalid. It's ok I have one from before. And Sam Neill is mobbed on exit and I plead for the op but to no avail. The police even are harassing me and threatening me with arrest. After he gets in his car I go to the other side and beg for the roll down and by miracle I not only get the op but the autograph on my Jurassic Park laserdisc! After this epic success, I am literally on my knees, holding up both my camera and my laserdisc, praising the lord for starting my day with such a huge success, and right in front of the police officers to boot! This also meant that I could sleep the next day instead of trying for Sam Neill at an ultra crowded spot. 

Then I go to the hotel to try to make up my Josh Brolin botch from the prior evening. Radioman was also there and a couple of graphers. Much better that the prior evening crowd wise. He finally came out and I manage to get the combo finally breaking my Josh Brolin curse. I also checked another spot and got actor/writer Julio Torres real quick.

Unfortunately, it began pounding rain so I spent a lot of time chilling at Taco Bell. In the evening I would try indoor spots with another grapher. First up is actress Moses Ingram from the Obi Wan series. She is cool and does autographs and photo ops. Next spot I get actor K Todd Freeman (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Sanjit De Silva, John Behlmann, Eleanor Handley, and Sepideh Moafi. There were more people to be had but I would make that up another day.

Day 3

First spot I go to I see No Doubt drummer Adrian Young who is very nice. Then I get Spanish singers Yandel and Manuel Turiz whom I never heard of. Go to the next spot for a slew of music names. First get is Luke Spiller from the Struts, Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine, and yet another op with David Grohl. Then I get legendary soul singer Bettye LaVette, session drummer Steve Gadd, and Marcus King.

Now it turns out Ricky Martin walked into the previous spot that we left. So we returned to get him walking out. I got him before but he has hat and shades. As he walked out he was nice and I got this upgrade. Went back to the spot with all the music names and here is where I botched. I left to try and see Alfred Molina. Never saw him and only got Toby Stephens who I have. Had I stayed I would have gotten a dual op with the Black Keys (have Patrick need Dan who is usually a dick) and Luke Spiller with no shades. PUNCH.

Then headed to a different spot with Hilarie Burton, Sophia Bush, and others. I actually wanted a better shot with Sophia. Sadly never saw her or Hilarie (I would get Sophia in the future), but I did get another shot with Tina Fey, actor Thomas Doherty, Paula Pell, and Renee Elise Goldsberry. 

Now go to some "easy" show spots. First one I get Josh Radnor (update) and actress Madeline Weinstein. Then go for actor Dorian Harewood who doesn't come out an greet the crowd. Got some barely valids in the railings then they removed the railings. I waited some more and he came out all covered up with a mask. But when asked he was nice and pulled the mask down for the photo op. Went to the next spot to get more names but only got Stephen Moyer. At the final spot went to try for Joy Osmanski but sadly never saw her.

Day 4

This day I start at the hotel for Sam Neill to try for an autograph, but he is not there. I head to the next spot. I immediately get Eddie Izzard (update). Anne Hatheway and Sam Neill use the garage but Sam does the roll down and I get an autograph on my Jurassic Park blu ray. I also get Awkwafina again. She signed and I got a blurry op. It's ok I have enough photo ops with her. Go again to try and see Alfred Melina but no luck there. I get Michael Siberry and Jonathan Hadary. 

On to Barnes and Noble and Union Square for the Nora Jones album signing. And get the combo there. Go to a Scott Bakula spot where I upgrade my photo op with him and get autos as well. Was hoping to see his wife Chelsea Field (Teela in the Masters of the Universe movie) but sadly she wasn't there. Actress Isa Briones was there and I botched not getting here (but would do so in the future). For my final NYC spot, I tried again for Joy Osmanski but again didn't see her. This ended my time in NYC.

Some scattered meets throughout February

In early February I embark to get actor Ronny Chieng who was in Crazy Rich Asians, Godzilla vs Kong, among others. I checked the venue and didn't know if he was in already. I hit up a nearby spot for some rap names I never heard of. I figure since I was there anyway might as well. I got Kwame, Chubb Rock, and Master Gee. On exit I try for Ronny again. He walks out with his entourage and is nice as can be.

Then to another spot for Seth MacFarlane. I met him before but I wanted the autograph. While waiting I get composers Joel McNeely and Michael Corcoran. Sadly Seth garages out. I also get actress Elizabeth Gillies but sadly a repeat name.

Days after I go to the airport for actress Sissy Spacek. Met her before but I wanted a better op and some autographs. She was somehow freaked out by me. She signed but sadly didn't do the op. I tried to ask her husband Jack Fisk for the op but he also declined.

Then to another repeat name, Vint Cerf also known as the father of the Internet. He sat down and lectured me. Asked how I knew about the flight. I said I waited on San Fransico flights (the place where he was doing events). He said he is "paranoid" and wanted to know who I was and asked for my ID which I showed him. Talked about previous airport encounters with another combo hunter. 

In one of the autographs he drew a sketch for inter planetary Internet and said he didn't do that for others and I'm "special". He also explained to me how they want to have Internet on Mars one day.

A few days later I hit up the Animaniacs on tour event. The main reason is for screen writer Randy Rogel. I enter and see both Rob Paulsen and Maurice LaMarche. I get autos from them. Then I wait and as the show is starting Randy is about to enter I quickly grab a photo op.

Then to the airport for actor Jon Bernthal. He is cool and I get another photo op and some autographs. I try for singer Gary LeVox at a spot but sadly never see him (spoiler alert, I would make that up in the future).

Mid February I mooch into a book signing and get a photo op with director Edward Zwick. The next evening I mooched into a show with actress Zainab Johnson. Everyone lined up and I got the op.

Couple of days later I go to the airport for football player Joe Montana. He was rough but I got him to sign a football. Then went to a venue for singer Steve Forbert. He did a meet and greet and I got the photo op. Went to another venue for comedian and actor Hasan Minhaj but sadly never saw him. Had I waited at the hotel a little I probably would have but I called it too early.

Next day I went to the airport for actress Phylicia Rashad. I have her but wanted autographs. She signed but wouldn't do photos with me. It's ok I have great ops with her.
