Quick New York City round and Cardi B in September

In September Cardi B would do a CD tour. I also had free tickets to the Charlie Sheen book event at Bookends. I wasn't driving and my crew wanted Sheen. So I was along for the ride on that one.

First stop is Bookends and I get my free Charlie Sheen photo op. This marks my third photo op with him. Wish it were Matthew McConaughey that's an upgrade I could have used. Then it was off to NYC for some meets.

I target two "easy" show spots for two meets. First one is actress Helen Shen. She is in a show with Andrew Barth Feldman who I have. As the show breaks, I found out she was replaced and is not at this performance. PUNCH. So I bail and head on to my next target. Namely actress Madeline Brewer. Wait for that show to break and yet again she is replaced for that performance. DOUBLE PUNCH. I got Jeremy Kushnier and Thomas Doherty who I already have. Spoiler alert, I would make up those punches in the future.

Go to the next spot for actress Michelle Rodriguez. I already have her but the others I was with didn't. As she came out chaos ensued and I stayed out of it and let people that actually needed her get some. I do get actor Ray Santiago. But this shot is an upgrade as I have him already. I leave and get a call that another actor came out. Namely Santiago Douglas. So I parked the car legally and ran back. I also got another female actress who I can't identify. After this is had some $1.25 slices of pizza and left the city towards Philly. Overall, this is probably the worst day I ever had in NYC.

After a good nights sleep, before Cardi B stopped at a sports show where I got nobody. There were some minor actors but decided to bail on that to drive out for Cardi B. In hindsight that was a terrible decision because she came 3 hours late! Once we got to her it was photo ops no autographs. Headed back towards home and tried a spot for Steve Winwood but it seemed like he was already on the bus.

Scattered meets throughout September part 2 - Lenny, Wyclef, and more

This day would be largely a bust except for the best name of the day. Tried for actress Issa Rae at a venue but never saw her. Then went somewhere else in the hopes of seeing Lenny Kravitz. He went out the bus to the venue to rehearse but told us on the way out. He came out to go back on the bus and despite rain he kept his word. This was the third time I ever tried for Lenny Kravitz. First time only got the auto. Second time it was a mask shot in a car. And third time was the charm.

Went back to the venue for Issa Rae. Got denied by Yvonne Orji in back. Then ran to the front and got denied by Issa Rae. It was Groundhog Day as I got denied by the same 2 actresses at a different venue years ago. Went to another venue for Papa Roach but never saw him. So it must have been too late.

Next day starts with a flight for actor Jimmy Smits. I have him before so this was mainly for autographs. He was a strict one per as he usually is. Then to an easy venue where I got a photo op with singer Ron Sexsmith.

The final venue for the evening is for the band Garbage. I have a group shot from years ago. But my priority was a solo shot with Butch Vig since he is not next to me in the group op. Plus I wanted him on my Nevermind vinyl that I have David Grohl on. Wait for them to leave and Butch comes out first. Nice as can be and I got the combo. Shirley came out and did stuff. I got an autograph but failed on a photo op with her. It's ok as I am next to her in my group op. Never saw the other 2 as they probably went in the bus while we were distracted. Overall I would say a success.

Next day I attended Mid Atlantic Nostalgia Show in Towson, MD. My only wants were from the Dazed and Confused reunion. Namely, Christine Harnos, Michelle Burke, and Deena Martin. Got two photo ops with them as a group and positioned myself differently so I'm next to everyone at some point. Also got a free photo with Mary Deese who was in Harold and Kumar. She was there at a table representing her husband James Hampton who I met in 2013 and died in 2021.

I didn't get Haley Mills, but I was taking someone else's photo. I then showed her our photo from 2018 and she said I didn't change a bit. So that was nice to hear. Left the con and went to the airport for singer Al Green. We see him and it's the calmest setting. No bodyguards no nothing. He listens to us talk but declines but photo ops and autographs. What a bust.

The final venue for the day is someone I sadly already have. Jerry Harrison from the Talking Heads. He is nice as can be as I get as slightly upgraded photo op.

A few days later go to a venue for Robert Cray. The current line up also has one other original member of his band, Richard Cousins. Richard is the first one out and he is nice. Get some barely valids. And finally Robert who is nice as he signs and does photo ops.

Next day wait a spot in the hopes of seeing Michael Dell (as in Dell computers). While waiting randomly see Katarzyna Bromirska and Mikolaj Rybacki of the band Percival. Go to the next spot in the hopes of seeing Wyclef Jean. Only see Roland Martin and I get the op. At this point it's time to mooch inside the event. While there wait for Wyclef Jean to do his speech. After his speech I manage to get the photo op. Also got two other names I never heard of.

Went back to see if Michael Dell could be spotted but no luck. This was a mistake as I missed out on possibly scoring a Nicole Ari Parker upgrade at the previous spot.

Next day I start a venue for Kym Karath who was the youngest child in the original Sound of Music. Never see her enter so I go to a school where Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan was stopping during a book tour. Find his car and wait for him to exst. Barely got the photo op wasn't able to score an autograph. Also got Mark Oshiro, another author who was there.

Go back to the venue for Kym and get a photo op with her as she leaves.

Next day is a flight for singer and soon to be actor Tucker Pillsbury AKA Role Model. Went up to him and he was nice as he took a photo op and signed for me.

Lastly for this report, next day went for a Steve Wozniak flight but he was a complete dick and was having none of it. His wife said these are graphers and he said she's the boss. I got The Woz before so this was mainly for autographs. The consolation prize was getting a slight upgrade with singer Vance Joy and some autographs from him.

Scattered meets throughout September part 1

In early September there was a book festival with several authors. One of them was John Green author of The Fault in Our Stars. He had no signing just a panel. So, I found his flight coming in the day before. He was cool and signed and did photo ops.

The day of the festival there was also a bottle signing for Ciara. So I had to juggle both. I start at the book festival by entering the panel of author Ransom Riggs (Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children). I ask him for the op before the panel starts, and he is nice as can be. Then I did the signing for Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Sadly, they were strict with no photo ops and only signed books. VE Schwab (whose work made it into tv and film) had a huge line and sadly didn't get her.

Then I headed out to go for Ciara. Took a while for her to get there but when she finally did she had hat and shades. PUNCH. I don't understand why even do appearances like this if you're not going to look your best. Makes no sense to me. The photo is essentially a step above a mask shot. Had I known this in advance I probably would not have bothered.

Back to the book festival and sadly I arrive 15 minutes too late to get any Geena Davis signed books (I heard her line was nonexistent). She was strict no merch which made that miss less painful. I went to RL Stine's line and got a signed book and another photo op. His line was huge, and they even limited it to one book per person no ops. Ended this event with ops from authors Ron Chernow and Paul Tremblay.

Later that evening I wanted to go for John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. They did music for Rocky IV, Cobra, and Eddie and the Cruisers. Besides John himself there is one other original member, Gary Gramolini.

The venue staff were being dicks, so we had to beat them to the hotel. I got both John and Gary who were super nice plus some other barely valids. I even got Gary to sign the album cover where he is actually pictured.

Next day I go to an easy venue for singer Grant-Lee Phillips who was also in Gilmore Girls. He comes out after the show and is nice as can be.

Next day a screening for the director of Wicked and Crazy Rich Asians, Jon M Chu. Wait for him to come out and he is super nice as he signs and does photo ops.

Next evening to another venue for British pop star Sheen Easton. Among other things she recorded For Your Eyes Only for the James Bond film of the same title and even has acting credits. After the show she came out and to my shock did photo ops for all 8 of us waiting. She event signed. Beat her to the hotel and got another item done.

On my way back from Ohio for horror hound I go directly to Baltimore for a flight for actor/comedian Tony Hinchcliffe. He made headlines when he made a joke about Puerto Rico at MSG during Trump's 2024 campaign. He was cool. Signed and did photo ops.

Next day starts with searching for Victor Willis of the Village People. But looked through several hotels and found nada. Then to Baltimore for "Please Don't Destroy" actors/comedians. On entry only saw Martin Herlihy. Never saw the others so they must have been inside already.

To kill some time till exists, checked nearby hotels and found Steph Curry. Sadly, he was a dick. Back to the venue for exits. Got both John Higgins and Ben Marshall single and dual shots. Success!

Go to another venue for the band 10cc. There's basically 3 original or core members to get. While on the way we found out Rick Fenn left with his daughter. And as we arrived the bus left with Graham Gouldman and Paul Burgess. Basically, we missed 1 member and made it just in time for 2 members. We beat them to the hotel, and they were nice despite the tour manager harassing us.

Next morning I go back to the hotel for 10cc and mooch some breakfast. While eating I see both Graham and Paul and they tell me hello, remembering me from the prior evening. Later on, I asked one of the band members about Rick and he told me he left for the airport very early and always does his own thing. Damn.

But later in the day I went to the airport for the lead singer of the Village People, Victor Willis. Waited for him. He was rough and didn't want to do anything but eventually broke down for the photo op. He refused autographs. Now I have 3 original members of the village people. Missing 2 that are still alive.

Amidst other meets, a 15 year quest completed

I've been combo hunting for roughly 20 years now. I can safely say that no one I ever tried for I've failed as many times as Bill Gates. For the past 15 years I had so many wasted early mornings, so much bullying from cops and security guards, so many denials and blow offs, so much time wasted. Even a $25 traffic ticket (that I paid for and by miracle did not incur me driving points probably in part due to it being from a different state).

But finally in September of 2025 I broke the curse. He was attending a government function and about 5 minutes away was a hotel for an awards function. The day before the events I do one flight for the awards event. Namely Cheech Marin flying in. He signed and I got another photo op.

Now it's event day and I start at the government event. I get Lisa Su (update) and a couple of others. Also get Tim Cook to sign (I would see Tim cook throughout and only got autographs since I have a photo op).

Then it happened. Bill Gates walks out the car to go in. I begged and pleaded for the op as he continued walking. I skirted around his security guard and even ignored being yelled at by secret service. Yes, that's right, secret service. This was the one name I wasn't going to comply on! I positioned my camera for the selfie and lo and behold Bill Gates was posing for my camera for the first time in 15 years! I literally thought I was seeing things.

Secret Service even told me "Don't try this again" and I replied, "This was the one guy I would try this for". If you look closely in the photo op you can see someone from secret service almost stopping me. I guess they figured it's easier to let me snap the photo than to tackle me. Right there and then my entire evening was made, and I was in bonus mode.

Go to the hotel for the awards event, I get Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, actress Paulina Chavez (update), a dancer who goes by Crazy Legs, and designer Henry R Munoz III. I miss Gloria Trevi and Mayan Lopez.

Back to the government event I get former Facebook executive Chamath Palihapitiya, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and another huge photo op score, co-founder of Google Sergey Brin! He refused autographs. But glory didn't end there. Leaving the event Bill Gates was standing there with his security guard trying to stop things. He comes up and by miracle he signed and I got an 8x10 done. I've had that Costco print in my possession for almost 15 years! It may very well be the longest gap ever between printing an 8x10 and getting it signed. I told him it's just the 2 of us to which he said "as long as more don't show up" as he signed. I also got more Tim Cook autographs.

Back to the awards event success went on. Got Gloria Trevi who was nice and event called me over. Tried to get another photo op with Rosie Perez but she wasn't being nice like she used to be. Photo came out bad but that's ok I have photos with her from the past. Got Cheech Marin looking all nice and suited up. Was about to leave the event but decided to stay a little longer. I see George Lopez's daughter Mayan Lopez and she is nice about the photo op.

It's not often things work out as well as they did tonight, but the timing of both events worked out, people stopped, I got lots of autographs and photo ops, AND I finally got Bill Gates. Wow what an incredible evening!

Steel City Con in August, Horror Hound Ohio and Retro Con in September

In August I would attend Steel City Con. This con would be a nice treat for me. Amy Smart from awesome movies such as Road Trip, The Butterfly Effect, and Rat Race, the two kids from Jurassic Park, and two actresses from Rosanne.

From Pawn Stars I upgraded my photo op with Rick Harrison. He didn't seem too happy to be there. I even mentioned that I was once an extra on pawn stars he didn't seem to care.

From Jurassic Park I got Ariana Richards and Joseph Mazzello adding to my collection of cast members from that iconic movie. And for Rosanne I got Lecy Goranson and Sara Gilbert which is awesome since I had recently gotten Rosanne Barr. I also got Zoe Perry from Young Sheldon since I got many of them over the years. And of course, Amy Smart.

On the artist side I got free photo ops with Rick Law who did illustrations for Disney, Marcella Spear and Krista Kay from Lego Masters, visual artist Kevin Kobasic, and Denny Finicke.

In September, one of my top music related wants was announced for Horror Hound in Ohio. Namely the front man of Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson. So this was a con I had to go to. In hindsight, while he ended up doing Steel City Con in December, he wore a horrific winter hat as if he was trying to explore Antarctica. So, this was the better photo op where he only wore a cap.

The con is off to a good start where I mooch a photo op with Leigh Whannell (SAW movies) in the lobby. I had regular admission for the con but they let anyone with regular admission early with the pre-show people if they were getting Bruce Dickinson autographs. And I was commissioned for 10 albums, so I definitely had items.

Got up to Bruce and got the autographs. He wasn't too fan friendly all business, but I personally don't care. After that it was time for the photo op. Again, simple hello and I'm fine with that. I finally got a photo op that I've never been able to get over the past 15 years.

Aside from Bruce I got girls from M3gan. Namely, Violet McGraw, Jenna Davis, and Madeleine McGraw. Then I got Max Laferriere from Scream 6. A friend of mine wanted Nick Castle but didn't care for the autograph. So, he got the photo op and gave me the autograph. Nick offered me the photo op as well which meant I got a free update after over 10 years.

Last photo I got at the con was Jasmin Savoy Brown from the Scream movies. Before leaving the state of Ohio I mooched selfies with Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues of Evil Dead and Alien: Romulus fame.

In September I would also attend Retro Con. I needed only one name there. Joey Cramer from Flight of the Navigator. I had someone driving there and he had items for Joey so that gave me a combo split. Win on all fronts! Went in, got Joey, left.

Scattered meets throughout August

This will begin where July ended (see July report). After failing on both Lil Wayne and Triple H the next day was a little bit more successful. While waiting for Lil Wayne to get on his bus I got rapper Gudda Gudda. Then Lil Wayne got on the bus and did send ins. I got 2 photos signed.

Next day was a signing for The Madden brothers of Good Charlotte. It was at a football stadium. The line was long but managed to get the photo op with both plus autographs.

Next I went to try for RFK but access was horrible and you would be stopped by security. Even tried to get Sean Duffy who was coming over then we got cock blocked. Got Kim Reynolds and Patrick Morrisey.

Off to the next spot with a bunch of actors from Twin Peaks. I had most of them but needed Kimmy Robertson (she was also in Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead). After the show she actually came out to smoke so I get the photo op. Then beat the actors to the hotel and got updated ops with Dana Ashbrook and Ray Wise. Also got producer Sabrina S Sutherland (fresh).

Next is old school new wave singer Nick Lowe. Also, he was performing with band members known as Los Straitjackets. They perform wearing lucha masks. Looking them up there was one member worth getting named Eddie Angel. Both Nick and Eddie were super nice and stopped after the show.

Next day for actor Daneil Dae Kim. I have an op from long ago figured I could use a slight upgrade plus autographs. Unfortunately, they snuck him out the venue a different way and by the time I ran up to him he was in the hotel and venue security cock blocked me telling the hotel "he is paparazzi". All I got was a barely valid Chef named Danney Lee.

Furious that I was one upped by rookie security guards, I find the flight out and try at the airport. Go up to him he is cool about the photo op but doesn't sign. Off to the next spot for the Doobie Bros. Sadly I missed original member Patrick Simmons. I get the barely valid musician John Cowan. See Michael McDonald and get him although I already have him. The only other score here is Tom Johnston who is a fresh meet.

Before leaving I checked the restaurants nearby for Patrick but no luck. I end the day with another barely valid Chef named Ype von Hengst (it was 5 minutes from where I was so I thought why not).

The band All American Rejects were doing a record store signing. Tyson Ritter, who is also an actor, is the lead singer and the other bend members were there from the beginning. I got Ritter once before but could use a better shot and never got the other band members. I went there the vinyls were $50 but thankfully I managed to get the group photo op for free. Outside after the signing I got Ritter solo shot no shades.

This day starts in an uneventful way. I wait at the hotel for the band Toto and got several people but pretty much have them. This ended my day or so I thought. Later I got a tip that former child actor Brock Pierce (Might Ducks, First Kid) was at an event. Dropped what I was doing and rushed there. Waited and 30 minutes later I met him and he was nice as could be. Also got other people at the event and mooched some food.

Couple of days later I go for the former lead singer of Pantera, Terry Glaze. I arrived 12:29am, which was a good hour before I was told the show would end. The show was over and I saw them loading the cars. The cars left 12:36. 7 minutes after I arrived. Also got his barely valid band mate John Dixon Hall Jr.

Next day I got to the airport for Alysson Hannigan. She used to be super nice but now she wasn't the nicest barely did 2 each. Then went to a hotel for actor/comedian Steve Byrne. Saw him across the street going to his comedy show and got the photo op. He was very nice.

Days later I go for guitarist Mark Lettieri. Basically because it was 15 min from my house. After his intimate show at a guitar shop, he was cool to approach.

Next day a venue for country singer Robert Earl Keen. Got his opener and he was cool as well.

The day after that a hotel for James Taylor and other band members returning from a show. I got James many times but I had unsigned items for him already in stock, so I thought I'd go. Lou Marini of the Blues Brothers was with him but I have him.

I got James' son Henry Taylor (fresh), Lou Marini (update), and Steve Gadd (update). Also got James to sign but had no need to ask him for another photo op.

A few days later I go to the airport for football player Marshawn Lynch (mainly to get a signed football to sell). While waiting see actor/comedian Mo Amer. That would be a decent get IF I didn't already have him. Marshawn Lynch comes through and is a complete dick.

Go to FairFax Comic Con mainly to hang out since it's close to where I already was. Also got whatever free photo ops I could. This included the wife of Bam Margera, Dannii Marie. I needed none of the paid guests as I have them.

Towards the end of August, I go to an early morning flight for rapper Ja Rule and his wife. Ja Rule has been in movies such as the original Fast and the Furious and Scary Movie 3. See him sitting down with his wife waiting for his plane to leave, he is nice as can be. Does the photo op and signs. I also get the combo with his wife.

Later in the day I try for Belgium DJ Amelie Lens at another airport. But never see her. Leaving the airport see track and field NCAA athlete Dylan Beard randomly. So I get the photo op (he does have a wiki).

Later that evening I attend the Martin Lawrence meet and greet. Also get the opener Benji Brown.

TNA in Baltimore plus a Smurf

During mid-August I would do something I haven't done in a very long time. TNA Wrestling! With one of my main wants being Joe Hendry. They had 2 shows so that gave lots of time to get people. I managed to find the TNA hotel. Or so I thought.

I start at the hotel and eventually a bunch of people come through. Namely,

Alexander says once they're in the elevator don't rush them anymore. Trick Williams says he will come back down. I got ops with everyone but Trick. Sadly I have them all except for Alexander James.

After they all go up while waiting we see Moose and he is cool. Sadly I have him as well. True to his word Trick Williams comes down and takes care of everyone. But again, I have him.

After Moose and Trick it is basically dead and things are off. First off, we only saw mostly NXT people and no TNA people besides Moose. To boot, in my almost 2 decades of doing wrestling hotels this did not seem like a typical hotel a company would use. Upon further research I figured out there's ANOTHER hotel and that is the TNA hotel. This hotel is apparently just NXT people and Moose was just visiting. Go to the next hotel and some random people staying there show me their Joe Hendry photo op. PUNCH!

To boot there's a bunch of wrestlers congregating in spot but we of course couldn't go to that area. So I wait for wrestling walking out and about. Some like the Hardy Boys I saw and didn't bother. But I got

Unfortunately, the only fresh one for me is Myron Reed. Bad evening for me in part because I was sidetracked at the wrong hotel but also in part because I have so many people it's harder to get fresh names.

I went home instead of sleeping in the car which would be a mistake. Because I heard the morning gets were good and that included Joe Hendry! PUNCH! I head back to Baltimore and begin with something non-wrestling related. Namely Katy Perry flying in. The car stops and she does send ins. I get signed a Smurfs photo already signed by Neil Patrick Harris and George Lopez.

Now when it's time for TNA to return back in the evening. I start with Zack Ryder (update) and Ryan Nemeth (fresh). Some declined going in. Now a guard comes to the front door and he says his explicit purpose is to stop us from asking for photo ops. Bail to the airport to try for Katy Perry leaving, but we missed her by about 5 minutes. I can't believe how early she left! The goal was to hope she would stop the car at night and come out and do photo ops. A tall order that probably wouldn't have worked anyway.

Back to the TNA hotel and the guard was standing at the front. But people were parking away from the front and coming in the back. So we got photo ops around the building away from the guard. Namely,

This time I slept in the car and that turned out to be the best decision ever. Because my morning starts and I see Joe Hendry walking with someone else who I didn't know at the time. I approach and ask Joe for the photo and said I believe in Joe Hendry. He agrees and I get the op. I ask the other person and get the op and turns out it' Leon Slater! Right off the bat 2 big scores!

At this point I stay hidden in my car and only come out when I see people walking to their cars. One guy told me "back for more" and I said yes then asked him for the op (still didn't ID him).

Then I got John Skyler (update) and Jason Hotch (fresh). I also saw Johnny Dango Curtis and got another op. He goes "didn't I get you yesterday?" and I said it was blurry. My op from yesterday was indeed blurry but had I realized it was him I wouldn't have gone since I got him in the past. But I saw the back and was going up to anyone that looked like a wrestler. By the time I saw his face all I could do was ask. One of the Ash by Elegance girls declined photo ops but signed for someone.

The last photo op I got was Eddie Edwards, someone who has eluded me for years. I went up and asked he was nice as can be. He was riding with Johnny Dango Curtis and Johnny tells him "this guy is creepy as fuck". Wait a bit more then decide to end my time in Baltimore. To further cement what a good decision it was to car sleep, I heard that later that evening when they came back from the show, they had security everywhere even walking with the wrestlers from the point where the cars were parked (I guess people told on us). Also, I had an early morning flight on Eddie Edwards but didn't even have to consider that because I already got him thanks to car sleep.

Scattered meets throughout July

July kicks off with something uneventful. Went to a spot got Trombone Shorty (repeat) and Abi Carter (fresh). Went to try for a flight that may have been Arnold but it wasn't him. Next day I go to the same spot and get updates with Otis Williams of the Temptations and Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys. Also get a dual op with country duo LoCash. Fast forward about a week I go to McGoobys for actors Clare Bowen and Jonathan Jackson of Nashville fame. They do a meet and greet after the show. Also present were their respective husband and wife.

They gave out a signed poster before the meet and greet. And as we were in line got Clare's husband Brandon Robert Young who is a barely valid singer. Then got single and dual shots with Clare and Jonathan. Then looked for Jonathan's wife Lisa Vultaggio who is an actress from General Hospital. She was nice.

After this sweeping success went to another venue for Coppola family member Robert Schwartzman. He was in The Princess Diaries. Waited outside the venue and he was walking outside. Nice as can be. Colin Blunstone of The Zombies was also there but I have him so I decided to go home.

Success continues a day later as I go for Pat Monahan of the band Train. Probably best known for the song "Hey, Soul Sister". He signed and did photo ops. Didn't really focus on the other current members of Train as they are all barely valid.

This day starts early morning for a flight of someone who has alluded me for years and I never heard good things about. Actor Eddie Griffin from Deuce Bigalow. Waited for him at the airport, saw him, and asked for the photo op. He was friendly.

After that stopped by a hotel and got a tennis player. Then to a spot to try for ai related people. Was hoping former child actor Brock Pierce was there but he wasn't. I did however get the Winklevoss twins (Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss). Mark Zuckerberg stole the idea of facebook from them. Also got Vladimir Tenev (CEO of Robinhood) among others. Ended the day with a flight for rapper Big Boi.

Next day a flight for someone else who has alluded me, Meghan Trainor. She always did signings and always heard she was nice, but the stars never aligned. This however was perfect. Glad I never went out of my way for her. To boot, Daryl Sabara from Spy Kids was there and actually my bigger want. Double perfect!

See them all they had an entourage including their kids. Meghan was super nice signed and did photo ops. I got vinyls done. But Daryl was a dick and would do nothing saying he was with the kids. Tried begging but to no avail. Wow! Usually you get the lower name spouse and not the superstar. Here I actually wanted the lower name spouse and I got the superstar. SMH. I did have an outbound for them but seemed fruitless to try when it was the exact same setup.

Tried one play venue hoping to see Bill Hader and Ali Wong (have Bill need Ali) since they were producers, but I didn't see any of them. This ended the day.

Next day starts at a venue for musicians I never heard of. I got members of the Rose City Band and the duo of Matthew Rolin and Jen Powers. Also got youtuber Kyle Gordon.

Next spot had largely tennis players, but I also wanted an upgrade with Wale. Sadly, he is being a dick puts his hand in front of his face as he poses, and his security is rushing him through. So that aspect of it was bust.

Weird Al is in town and while I have Weird Al, I never got the rest of his band besides the bass player (all members played on all his albums). Beat the bus from the show to the hotel. I get the original guitarist Jim West AKA Kimo. Then keyboard player Ruben Valtierra who isn't original but has been on Weird Al albums since the early 90s. Then an update with bassist Steve Jay.

Disappointingly I never saw original drummer Jon “Bermuda” Schwartz and never saw Weird Al though I would later find out Weird Al had to go to NYC for Colbert. BUT I did get a nice surprise. Got Jay Levey who directed the movie UHF! I also got Weird Al's opener Puddles Pity Party. And while waiting actress Jackie Appiah randomly pulls up and she is nice.

Go back to the spot the next day in the hopes of seeing Jon but never saw him. I got another op with Jim West since my shot from the night before was slightly blurry. And Steve Jay noticed me and waved at me.

The next day I couldn't find Jon again but I knew someone going into the Weird Al meet and greet and didn't care for the auto so I got my 8x10 done.

Next day I start in the morning for director Matt Shakman (2025 Fantastic Four movie). He is cool and I get a combo. Later in the day I go for a different kind of name. Zahi Hawass who is an archeologist from Egypt. His wiki seemed impressive, so I thought why not appease the combo Gods. Got the photo op plus autos. Seems like a cool historical name.

Last spot for the evening I was hoping for Nvidia founder Jensen Huang but only his cousin was there.

Days later I go for folk singer Tom Rush. Go to where he is playing and find him walking around. He is as nice as can be. Next spot is in the evening for actors who did a show. Susan Egan from 13 Going On 30 and Disney's Hercules and Bill Farmer who voices Goofy. Have Bill need Susan. Beat them all to the hotel. Never see Bill but got Susan and other actors there and they are all nice as can be.

Go to the final spot which is a venue for the band Pixies. Sadly, I'm late. I get the barely valid Emma Richardson and the opener Kurt Vile both at the venue. Missed Joey Santiago entering the hotel and also missed lead singer Black Francis entering the hotel although he barely signed one item.

Next day at the airport wait for Vanilla Ice to fly in. This is mainly for autographs since I have him. But his plane gets diverted to Richmond due to the weather. While there I try for Pixies singer Black Francis and he shoots me down. But I do spot the band of Taylor Hawking's son. I show them my photo op with Taylor, and his son says we need to do an op.

The day prior I waited for Lil Wayne at his hotel. An assistant said they would take our stuff but that never happened. Now we're waiting again and still nada. So go to another spot in the hopes of seeing Triple H come out. I have him but need a photo op with bearded Triple H and some autographs. Sadly, never saw him but saw Lawrence Taylor. Got another photo op and had him sign the Wrestlemania 11 entry of the WWE_E V1.

Went back to look for Triple H at another spot and never saw him. And finally went to a venue and got pianist David Benoit who also did music for the 2015 Peanuts movie.

Scattered meets throughout June part 2 - YES! I raised the BARR

Shortly before going to NYC to the festivities of films, I would have a couple of good meets. First up I went for Roseanne Barr. I arrive and miss the director, but Rosanne herself arrives and is nice. Sadly, she has shades and a cigarette. She also refuses to sign items with John Goodman. After she enters, I leave to move the car, and I heard she came back out no shades. PUNCH.

I attend the event then after the event I get director Joel Gilbert. Then after that I get a perfect shot with Roseanne Barr. I get some others from the event as well.

Next day I go to a spot for actor Cole Hauser (Pitch Black, Yellowstone) but there's nothing there. I must have missed him. But the day after an event of his is discovered. So, I go there. After the event I score a photo op. Then go to the airport for actor Noah Wyle flying in. He is with his mother and signs. I also get an updated photo op.

After the festivities of films in NYC it is mid-June I went out to try to get singer Avril Lavigne and Jon Anderson of Yes fame (He sang the song Owner of a Lonely Heart). Sadly I couldn't find Avril Lavigne. But I went to an easy venue and got old school Jazz pianist Monty Alexander. He came out after the show and was very nice.

Next went to a hotel and got a bunch of Skateboardists I never heard of. And at the end of the evening after Jon Anderson's show, beat him to the hotel and he was very nice about photo ops. Success!

Couple of days later I hit up Ringo's All Star Band over a 2 day span. First day coming back from the show and second day for check outs. My main goal is Colin Hay. Sadly he has the mask and ignores both times as he goes in on Day 1 and as he goes in the van on Day 2. I get other members but no one big that I didn't already have.

Couple of days later I went to the airport for singer/songwriters Janis Ian and Janiva Magness. First up was Janis. She was cool as she took photos and signed. Next up was Janiva who was shocked we were waiting to get ops. After this double success went to a venue for Hootie and the Blowfish guitarist Mark Bryan. I already have Darius Rucker so made sense to go for him. After his show he met fans and was nice.

Next day starts with some basketball flights. I wanted to get George Gervin whom I missed out on in the past. But also for Clyde Drexler who has tv credits. Calvin Murphy is also on the same flight.

From the flight I get combos with Calvin Murphy and George Gervin (both on blanks) but sadly Clyde Drexler declined saying "at the game".

Off to the music event. During the event I get Asha Puthli (fresh), Janis Ian (who remembered from the airport), Melba Moore (update), Regina Belle (fresh, A Whole New World, 1992 Disney's Alladin), and Janiva Magness (who also remembered from the airport).

On exit I get Brenda Russell (fresh), Regina Belle again (this time I get her to sign CD covers for me), and Claudia Jordan (update).

Next day went to the airport for actress Jennifer Connely. Thankfully I got the photo op in NYC years ago so this was mainly for autographs. While waiting actor/comedian Henry Cho is randomly spotted and I get a photo op. Matt Vinson and Nicholas Falk of the band Caamp are spotted and I get the photo op. Sadly Connely is being nasty and her son cursed me out. So that wasn't happening.

Go to a venue for country singer Pam Tillis. First, I see others in her show namely Ivy Phillips and Kaitlyn Felicia Connor. They were very nice. Soon after Pam is seen simply walking to the venue and is nice as can be.

Next day another flight for Ice Cube. This is also mainly just the autograph. Ice Cube isn't very nice but I follow him along with some kids and while in line he finally picks up a sharpie and I get an autograph. Success.

To round off June I attend the only con for the month, CSA show. I get a few sports names for free including Anthony Munoz who was in a couple of movies.

Scattered meets throughout June part 1

To kick off June I went to a flight for with DJ Tiesto. He flew in, wasn't too nice, signed but didn't do ops. Then singer Rebecca Black was leaving. She wasn't too nice but I manage a selfie.

Next I wanted to try for the Hear sisters. Going in the venue we got Nancy but didn't spot Ann in time. Nancy was surprisingly cool. Leaving just as Ann was coming out a truck obstructed our view and we got up to her too late as she was already halfway in the bus.

Next I decided to try an easy venue for XTC drummer Terry Chambers. After the show I got him and the 2 barely valid musicians that tour with him. Nice as can be. Then to another venue for the band Jet. Basically everyone is original. After the show all 4 of them stopped.

Next a venue for Bill Clinton and author James Patterson. Secret service was harassing us but we were allowed to stay till James came in. He got dropped outside the venue and we got ops. Then to another venue for country singer Paula Cole. While waiting a police sergeant saw what we were doing and tried to give us the BS that we couldn't stand on public grounds. Even though there was a bum standing there doing insane stuff even before we got here.

After much back and forth we waited at another part where we could still see. But then we had to head to another spot for actress Patricia Clarkson. Sadly this is just an update for me but she was nice. Back to the Paula Cole spot and the bum was back to where he was and the police were gone. We went inside saw Paula and she was nice as can be.

Next day it was another event with Kevin Sorbo and Pat Boone. As I arrive, I immediately see Kevin. He is nice and does multi combos. This is an update for me as I mooched him at a con long ago, but I got autos which I didn't have before. We see Pat Boone but he is cock blocked from us by venue security.

Go to the next spot for Eugene Levy and Dionne Warwick. Eugene is a strict one per. I get a combo (upgrading my photo op from NYC). Sadly Dionne is adamant on no photos despite her being all dressed up and me begging and pleading. Back to the first spot where magician Joshua Jay walks out. Get the photo op.

When the Sorbo event let out, didn't see Kevin Sorbo leave while James Arnold Taylor and other minor actors left out the front (thankfully I have James Arnold). But Pat Boone leaves and I get an upgrade photo op plus autographs. The final spot for the evening was Paul Simon returning from a show but he ignored.

Next up I try for Jennifer Lopez flying in, but the police kicked us out. Beat her to the hotel where I manage to get a photo op and break my 15-year J Lo curse. Unfortunately, she has shades and a cap. PUNCH. So it was a bittersweet victory.

Looked for Paul Simon at his hotel and didn't find him. Then tried a venue for the former Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern. No idea who she is but I had nothing else going on.

Then to a venue for Grace Jones where I wanted an upgrade and autographs. Janel Monei comes out and does nothing. Thankfully I have her. Finally, at 4am Grace Jones comes out. No shades then I take someone's photo on my camera. She then decides the flash is too bright and I end up having to get a crappy phone photo op. Wow I really got PUNCHED hard here! Two Punches with two female singers/actors in one day. In both cases I got the op but also didn't get the op. It hurt bad. Especially in this case when someone else get the shot I wanted on my own camera! Grace also signed.

After JLo/Grace PUNCHES, next day was largely a bust. It starts with a flight for singer Troye Sivan who also played young Logan in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He is nice as can be. Also grab a photo op with his band member Simone Nolasco.

Try again for J Lo at her hotel for an upgrade, but she just waves at us from her car. Would it have killed her to stop and do some car ops? Tried for Grace Jones at her hotel but she declined us. She told me to give my info to her guy for autograph mail ins. Beat her to the airport where she also refused photo ops citing no make-up but gave us spankings which was caught on video by her guy (who then sent it to us). Sadly, we made an oath not to post the video of us getting spanked by Grace Jones.

Tried for J Lo coming back at the hotel and that too was a bust.

What followed the previous day of busts? Another day of busts! First went to the J Lo hotel didn't see her. Then went to the airport for a flight for singer Khalid but the flight got canceled. Back to the Paul Simon hotel then the J Lo hotel where she left and did nada. Couldn't beat her to the next spot as the next spot was the venue.

Checked the venue for Paul Simon but decided to try hotel instead. Back to the Paul Simon hotel where we see him come back and got right up to him but he declined. I did get a photo op with multi-instrumentalist Mark Stewart who is on wikipedia.

Next day is a final attempt at Paul Simon. Had him right on the sidewalk by the hotel and he denied. Then beat him to the airport and had him right there where again he denied. After that did some pure Pokemoning. Tried a hotel and got Envy Peru. Tried another hotel got 2AM Ricky. Had a free meet and greet for Khalid at the pride concert. Don't know him or care for him but free is free. Got the photo op. He was nice.

Then went to the Happy Together Tour mainly for Jay and the Americans. Needed original member Sandy Deanne. Unfortunately there were no original members of Jay and the Americans at this show in this show. SMH. I did get Little Anthony and Gary Puckett, but I had them already. Day is another bust.

New York City: The Festivities of Films!

Around mid June I decided to do The Festivities of Films in NYC. I wish I did more of it, but I had other stuff going on (combo related and otherwise) that it was hard to swing everything.

Day 1

First spot I sit to see who I see. I saw film maker Jonas Akerlund who was cool. I also saw Dustin Hoffman and his son Jake (who is a valid name) but I botched that and didn't get them. I have Dustin but needed his son. I waited for them to return but only Dustin returned and he declined.

Go to the next spot where my main goal is Taron Egerton (Kingsman, Rocketman). First, I try to get a Patricia Arquette update, but she isn't looking so that is botched. It's ok I have a photo from many moons ago. On entries I got David Arquette, Camila Morrone, David Harbour, Ryan Eggold, Elizabeth Lail, Zazie Beetz, Hook (yes, the wrestler), Rafe Spall, and Dennis Lehane. All these are repeat names except for author Dennis Lehane. But it's actually a decent name as his books were made into movies. This includes Mystic River and Shutter Island. Again, the problem I have where I have so many people it's harder to get fresh names.

Taron Egerton comes in and starts doing it for the crowd. I almost didn't get it at first as security was cock blocking me. Then I dashed to the place where he enters red carpet (gotta break rules for your top want). By miracle I manage to score the shot! Primary objective accomplished!

On the negatives, Anna Chlumsky didn't stop. It's ok I have a photo from many moons ago. Actor Ray Nicholson (Jack's son) who I needed no showed. Both Debbie Harry and Keith Richards showed. I never saw Debbie (who I have) but I failed on Keith going in as he didn't stop.

On exits it was pandemonium as I was trying to get Keith Richards. But I never saw him. HE exited out of a door when I was someone else and didn't do ops but he signed a couple in the car. Who knows if I was there with him if I would have gotten the selfie.

Got Courteney Cox (update), got Cindy Crawford's daughter Kaia Gerber (fresh), actor Greg Kinnear (fresh), and actress Jurnee Smollett (upgrade). Taron Egerton didn't stop leaving.

Day 2

Waited at a spot to see who I see but I only saw Rafe Spall and his wife check in with baby. Had to do a double take cause why would they be checking in at that point. But it was them. Since I have ops I had no need to bother them. Leave this spot and go to a spot for director Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler). Wait for him as he enters and get the combo! Day is off to a good start.

On to the next spot where I get Sebastian Maniscalco and Jamie-Lynn Sigler on exit (both fresh) and Logan Lerman (update) and Molly Gordon (fresh) on entry. Success! Now I leave the festivities of films for the day and go to the "easy" show spots.

First spot is from Chiara Aurelia, Ella Stiller, and Christopher Briney. Christopher sneaks out but the 2 girls are nice as can be. Sean Kaufman was apparently a random attending the show but I never saw him.

Next spot I wait and the worker is trying to say none of the cast is coming out. But I know better. I get Jay Ellis (repeat), actress Stephanie Nur (My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, fresh), Noma Dumezweni (Mary Poppins Returns, fresh), Charles Randolph-Wright (fresh). Never saw Dariush Kashani (Ghost Whisperer). This ended my evening.

Day 3

This day starts with a signing for actor John C Reilly. This would officially make my rough trade records debut. Lined up and got the vinyl signed. After the signing it was back to the festivities of films for actress Ellen Pompeo. Apparently she garaged going in and of course would do the same going out.

At the same spot waited for the Star Trek cast to go in. It was pandemonium luckily I didn't need most of them. Didn't need Anson Mount, Ethan Peck, or Carol Kane. Going in I got Babs Olusanmokun and leaving I got Celia Rose Gooding. So it was a success.

Did a show for actress Louise Lasser because I buddy of mine didn't have her and to scout out a new theater for future reference. Got her. Then went back to the festivities of films and final spot for this trek, director David Cronenberg (Videodrome, The Fly).

Apparently he didn't stop going in and leaving it was a mob scene and he did nothing.

Scattered meets throughout May part 2

Around mid may after leaving NYC for the Festivities of the Televisions I would go to a winery in Maryland for a bottle signing. In this one Harold Perrineau (Matrix Reloaded, 28 Weeks Later) and Malcolm D Lee, both fresh for me, are appearing. The prior signing had 4 people but I couldn't it them since I was in NYC. Luckily I had the other 2 and this one had the 2 I didn't have.

While people are lined up, I wait in the back and see the cars pull up. I ask for ops and they are nice as can be. Lots of time saved which would be needed to get to my next spot. Namely a hockey spot with Alexander Ovechkin via a tip I got while waiting at the winery. Since he broke a record held by Wayne Gretsky, I figured that's a good name to appease the combo Gods. Plus I actually failed on him at an airport 15 years ago so this would be a novel "reunion".

Arrive there and not 20 minutes later Ovechkin comes out and he is nice and takes care of everyone. I heard he can be nasty so this was a pleasant surprise. I also get other hockey players while there.

Next up I went to Maryland for a day. First an event with George Lynch where he did a performance and free signing. Then to a restaurant for actor Ed Norris (The Wire). Then a comedy show for actor Jonathan Kite (2 Broke Girls). Also got his opener Rudy Pavich. Checked a final spot for Matthew Weiner (creator of Mad Men) but he was gone and I only saw actress Adrienne C Moore (repeat).

Next day I go again to try again for Matthew Weiner. Arrive at the venue early this time and mooch after it lets out. The crowd is gathering in the lobby and the first person I see is Mathew himself. SCORE! He is cool as he signs and does ops. From this point on I am in bonus mode as I either have the names or they are barely valid. I get upgrades with Ben Ahlers and Adrienne C Moore among other names.

Next I go to a hotel where a bunch of performers are, but I really just need one person. Namely an upgrade with Gretchen Mol. I arrive and not long after I see her. Although that effort would be for nothing as we will see.

Next day I go to a venue for Bear McCreary who composed music for many movies and TV shows such as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Walking Dead, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, among others. At the venue see some of his band members and get them but then go to the hotel from the prior day as he is probably inside.

Here I get Angel Blue (fresh), country singer Scotty Hasting (fresh), and upgrades with Blair Underwood, Mary McCormack, Gary Sinise (could never get a good photo with him now I finally did), Esai Morales, and Gretchen Mol (much better than the prior day). Again run into the same problem, I have so many people it's harder to get fresh names.

Later in the evening at the same spot I got chef Kwame Onwuachi and the country band Restless Road. Also got another photo op with Yolanda Adams returning. She had declined earlier.

Back to the spot for Bear McCreary. All the band members leave and I get them. And finally Bear himself who is nice and I got the photo op and autographs.

Go back to the same spot the next day. Gene Simmons left and did ops. Sadly, it's only an update for me. Didn't realize his wife and actress Shannon Tweed was there so now I had to wait for the return. While waiting get another photo op with singer Loren Allred. And finally Gene and his wife come back. Gene goes inside ignoring us because him and his wife thought we were asking for the dual shot. When he goes inside, I make it clear to his wife that I want an op with her, She seems perplexed but is nice as can be.

And finally in May I do the hotel for Big Lick Comic Con. I get an adult update with Chandler Riggs, 15 year update with Lou Ferrigno, an update/upgrade with Billy West, fresh op with actor Xavier Jimenez, update/upgrade with Katelyn Nacon, among others.

Scattered meets throughout May part 1

May starts with an actor that I missed from a show the prior month, namely Lawrence Hilton Jacobs. So I wanted to make that up. It lets out and I get the op. A good start. Got some other barely valid names and went to the next spot. The main goal there is the band The Damned. Upon arrival for the singer Sasami along with her opener Jia Pet.

Then waited for The Damned. First got the drummer Rat Scabies. Then the guitarist Captain Sensible (who also has a decent solo career). Sadly, it was downhill from there as the singer David Vanian declined and couldn't beat them to the next spot. Also didn't get the semi original bassist Paul Gray and the barely valid keyboardist Monty Oxymoron. I guess not a total waste as I got 2 of the 3 top members of the band.

Amidst all that saw Ian MacKaye randomly and got another op with me.

Next up went to the M3 Rock Festival to get people. One of my main wants is Mark Slaughter the lead singer of the band slaughter. I get him and I get mostly repeat names including Guns and Roses drummer Steve Adler plus autographs from him.

The band Spread Eagle (2 original members) were checking in. I never got them. After they check in I got Ray West plus 2 barely valids. Lead singer Rob De Luca said he would do it later. He went up to his room and true to his word he came back and took care of us.

When Slaughter came back I even got a dual Dana Strum and Mark Slaughter photo op. Score! One failure was Roxy Petrucci, the only core member of the band Vixxen. I got her before but she's not next to me in the op. So I needed her again. I got the 3 barely valid members of Vixxen while waiting for her but her plane (and therefore check in) was delayed. But I sadly had to get to the airport for Warren DeMartini of Ratt. About 5 minutes after I left Roxy checked in. PUNCH! Went to the airport for Warren and got the op.

Next day I go for actress Anjelah Johnson-Reyes (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel). She was nice as was her husband Manwell Reyes.

A few days later I go to Monstermania in Baltimore. My wants there are very little. But first I check a spot for actress Tamara Tunie (Devil's Advocate). Never see her so I put that on hold and go to Monstermania. I get Lauren LaVera and Samantha Scaffidi from Terrifier fame. Back to the spot for Tamara and get her in the venue walking around.

With that go to a hotel for the band AC/DC. I have Angus Young but need Brian Johnson. As I'm driving there traffic is horrid and they check in. Brian Johnston does a photo op with someone waiting. PUNCH! Granted hat and dark shades, but still. He did an op.

As I get there and wait, the whole band goes to dinner and says no. We wait for them to come back and it couldn't have been a better setup. Restaurant was across the street. We were on a sidewalk. And they were adamant no selfies. I got a nice autograph from Brian on an 8x10 but despite my begging and my pleas, no luck. And with all my focus on Brian and couldn't even get an auto from Angus.

For the last spot of the day I then go to an appearance by Chubby Checker, who I already have. There's a line after the event. I get a slight upgrade over my previous shot plus an autograph.

Next day I tried to see if I can get any of the band members going for walks, but all I see is football player Andrew Wylie and barely valid AC/DC members Stevie Young and Matt Laug. After this I would go to NYC for the festivities of the televisions (already reported).
