First wave of April meets

First, a rather unique name and sort of a 9/11 attack name. Philippe Petit who is best known for his illegal high-wire walks between the World Trade Center buildings. We went to the airport for him and he was perplexed that we were waiting for him. He dubbed our presence as "interesting". I guess no one had ever asked him at an airport before? He was a little rough but stopped.

Then I went for someone who I missed out on over the years, Marty Friedman. He was the lead guitarist of Megadeth on all the best albums from the 90s which feature some of my favorite Megadeth songs such as "Countdown to Extinction" and "A Tout Le Monde". He would usually do $75 meet and greets where he would do combos in his tour bus. But this time he made a post on IG saying these meet and greets wouldn't be offered for that tour. So I had to try him the free way and I didn't know how nice he would be. Thankfully he was overly nice and did combos for all. Saved me the $75 as I would have likely paid for the guarantee had it been offered.

Fast forward to the middle of the month, flight for singer Thelma Houston. Wait for her to show up and she does combos for all.

Big Lick Comic Con was taking place that same weekend so I swung by the hotel to see what could be had. Saw Ron Simmons but didn't have a need to bother him. Also saw Power Ranger actress
Nakia Burrise checking in. I had no need to ask her but she denied those asking for an op. Saw Ming Chen and he was doing ops so I grabbed another op with him.

The next day I would plan to attend Big Lick Comic Con. But before I would go there I would try a spot for actress Debbie Allen. I got her at the airport in 2021 but she was wearing a face shield. So I needed that upgrade. I went to the event and to my dismay it ended earlier than I had predicted. So I scrambled and to my luck she was still mingling about. I asked her for an op and she was nice as can be. Mission accomplished. And then it was off to Big Lick

At Big Lick Comic Con I didn't have much in terms of needs. I had the celebs. I just needed some ops with comic book names and a couple of comic books signed. First I get Rick
Leonardi (Spiderman, Daredevil), then Ron Marz, I got him to sign my DC vs Marvel comic, marking my third signature on it. Then Mark Waid who I got on my Flash comic (he signed it for free). Then I got another op with Arthur Suydam and finally Star Wars designer Christian Gossett.

To round off the first wave of April meets, I would have a flight for Mickey Thomas, the lead singer of Jefferson Sharship. I met him before but I thought why not go for some autographs since it's so easy. Waited for him and he was trailed by a cop car. Not sure why. But I asked him to sign and he was nice as can be. His wife then asked me to give "the cop who did not arrest us" one of the signed 8x10s. So I went up to the driver's side of the cop's car to offer him the photo. He acted like I was trying to attack him as he quickly opened the door and used the door as a barrier between me and him as he got out of the car. I told him that she asked to offer him a signed 8x10 and if he wanted one. He said "no I'm good" then he asked me who that was and I told him. He goes "oh, cool".
